Fall Festival

Today J Man and I had great fun at his "school", there was a fall festival and he had tons of fun.

He got to get real messy painting with corn.

He had fun in the ball pit and making up games that involved throwing balls!

There were lots of crafting and painting in creative ways.

They had also set up a dirt pile with trucks, between this and the ball pit he was in boy heaven!

There was also face painting, he wanted to be a cat. He spent the rest of the day crawling and meowing like a cat!

Wycliff Fun

Every year as a church we have a fall social event. It is tons of fun, we cook lots of chile, have a dessert making contest, games for the kids and of course Neufie Horseshoes.. otherwise known as Ladder Golf.

This was J Man's very first egg and spoon race, he loved it!

The girl's are pros at it now!

One of the highlights was a spontaneous race of Tonka Trucks. It is tradition that kids bring their Tonka Trucks to this event, it was so perfect that there was a place to race them too!

We were so thankful that the rain held off, it made the event so much more fun. We ate WAY too much chile and desserts. Sadly though, Paul didn't win the dessert contest and we could not retain our championship title in "Ladder Golf", we did come a close second though!

The Perfect Fall Lunch

Yummm, I have grown in appreciation of oatmeal and when Paul suggested it for lunch today I got all excited. It was so good and perfect for a cool fall day.

Simmer whole oats for around 5 minutes
In frying pan cook up some cut apple (from your tree), blueberries, pecans
Combine both delicacies and garnish with brown sugar, cinnamon, milk and raisins
Enjoy!

My husband is a Photographer

Wanna see my husband's photography skills... check out the header for the website he is helping his friend with. He did a good job on the pic (I will take a bit of credit here to say that I showed him how to achieve movement in TV mode), but it turned out just how he wanted! Wayne is also doing a great job on getting the website going too!

Driftwood

I am experimenting with presets for photo editing. There are tons of free ones to choose from and some of them are really good. I am in love right now with Driftwood.

Signs you live in the Kootenays

What follows is an email my husband just sent me.....

I'm sitting in starbucks, trying to be civilized and just outside the window two hunting dudes pulled up with a skinned animal in the back. Now they are inside the shop and a crow is devouring the meat. I'm trying to cherish these unique Kootenay moments.

Ya, we live in the Kootenays.
