Why Not?

When your son begs you to run through the sprinklers, I have come to realize the best answer is "YES!" I have spent way too many times saying no to things that really don't matter. Sure, get a little, or a lot wet! Enjoy yourself, have fun! Boy did he have fun! He was soaked and ran threw as many times as he could. I am sure that the students at the University were wondering where this kid's mother was...  I was the one holding my camera, enjoying every giggle that came from the overjoyed little boy!

Another success that came from being on Campus today came in the form of an answered prayer. We have been looking for a family doctor and with no luck, in fact we were told "Good Luck!" by medical staff. We  were almost ready to give up and just use walk in clinics as our only source of doctor care when we tried the school that Paul goes to. There is a medical clinic on site and they service all the students and said we can use them. So good! They will not only take Paul, but me and the kids, and he sounds like a great doctor!  Yay! I almost ran through a sprinkler myself, but.....

I love Fall

I think Fall is truly one of my favourite seasons. I love everything about it and I think I am going to enjoy it so much more this year. See, when we lived in the mountains, Fall was amazing... amazing but quick. Usually by Oct it was already below zero and snow was on it's way. Now that we live on the Coast, Fall is a dragged out season, lasting well into even Nov. Yesterday we were in the pool here at our house, feeling hot and staying in the shade. Today though we got a glimpse of Fall. It was cool and cloudy, perfect sweater wearing weather. Our adventures today fit so well with the weather. We went down to the river and threw orange and yellow leaves into the water and raced them down the river. Then we watched a movie being filmed (well maybe not so Fallish but fun still!). We stopped for cookies and warm berry crisp made with fresh cranberries grown right here. Some Warming Soul tea and several games of Backgammon when we got home, then my baker husband whipped up dozens and dozens of warm oatmeal choc chip cookies that we enjoyed with milk for bedtime snack. We are now rounding out our day with cuddling on the couch in warm pj's. I am looking forward to what Fall will be like here, trips to the Apple Barn, the Corn Maze, making lots of apple crisp, drinking lots of tea and eating lots of soup and Guiness Pie. I am ready for Fall's fun, it's warm days and cool nights and sharing a snowless Fall with my family!

Randomness

Where to start.

Went swimming today at the Walnut Grove indoor pool, I hadn't been there since Cici was a baby. It hasn't changed much actually, but was still lots of fun. The biggest highlight was the huge waterslide. Both girls went down over and over again. Even Bethy after a few scared tears marched up to the top with her sister and came down with a huge smile and laughing uncontrollably. On her 4th time down she came running over to me and said that from now on I had to walk her up there, the lifeguard told her so. "Oh," I said, "why?" "Where you running up the stairs?" "Where you fighting with your sister?" "NO!", she said, "The lifeguard asked me how old I was and I said 6." I was proud of her for telling the truth but really, she is turning 7( how old they need to be to walk up alone I guess) in just a few more weeks. I tried to comfort her about it but used the opportunity to explain that there are rules and even though we may not like them we should obey them, plus, I wasn't about to trek up to the top and back down carrying J Man!

It is hot, finally summer. Trying to keep our place cool but our room gets pretty hot at night. We are really enjoying our place and have been to the outdoor pool a few times but not since last week's poop incident (not our kid thankfully!)

Waiting for some pictures I ordered to come, not sure when or where they will arrive.

Jude just hurt himself again... be right back..... he hurt his foot but will be fine. With that one plus walking into the counter, the car, the wall, the banister... the count for the day has got to be over 10!

Paul is almost done Hebrew!!!! YAY!!! Single parenting is not for me, I miss him and can't wait to get him back this weekend.

Speaking of school, I am a bit excited! It has been a long 3 months of having them 24/7, they are getting tired of only playing together, they need friends and I need them to have friends. I am looking forward to some time on my own. I know though, as soon as I have my first day alone... well, maybe the second of third or fourth day I will miss them. I am looking forward to having some time too with Paul, maybe we could even get a lunch date once a week!

The kids are wrestling again, I am exhausted after taking 3 kids swimming, how do they keep going?

Got a really fun birthday planned for Cici, we are going to the Corn Maze with our family. It is so cool that we can invite all our extended family to come! She is pretty excited about going, not just for the maze but for the pony rides, the huge slide, the petting zoo, the hayride, the train ride, the bonfire. I am pretty excited too.

Jude has a little toy piano that plays a few songs, it just played a crazy version of Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer.

We have a crazy good birthday planned for Beaner but can't share, well, not yet at least. We are going to surprise her with it and she is going to LOVE it. Again, so cool that we live in a place where the entertainment options are endless. Also, it pays to have a membership at the Aquarium!

Gonna head down and check the mail, it is an event around here.

Sweetness

We recently went to a very cute bakery in Fort Langley. We sat down and ordered some cupcakes for the kids, and this is what graced our table. How sweet.

A New Baby Truman, But Not Ours!

I had the privilege of photographing my sister in law who is due with her first baby in just over a month! She looked amazing and we had so much fun and had many laughs! We can't wait to meet this new baby Truman, our kids are so excited to have a cousin!

How do you waste time in Bellingham WA while you wait for your Papa to arrive at the airport, you find a cool toy at the mall.

The Pictures

Last week we took our family to Seattle to see a Mariner's game. We brought with us Paul's parents, his brother and his wife and we met up with my cousin and her family from Vancouver WA, did you know there was another Vancouver?? Anyway, we had so much fun, the kids loved being in a huge stadium for the first time and watching the game... well, actually, they spent more time having fun with their cousins and watching the seagulls!

And now, here is our townhouse we are renting. We live close to the school that Paul is going to go to, there is an elementary school that the girl's will go to right across the street and as I mentioned before, close to lots of shopping. Oh, there is also a clubhouse in the complex that has a huge kitchen/livingroom to rent with big screen tv and pool table. There also is an outdoor pool with hot tub that we have enjoyed already. There is also a weight room and also a floor hockey room which is a favourite of J Man!

The living room and kitchen are on the second level of the house.

Bedrooms are on the third level. The kids are all sharing a room and surprisingly it is going really well.

We are really enjoying having our own place and the kids are so excited to see their toys again! The girl's have already made some friends, there is a girl and boy that live next door that are about their age. There are tons of kids always around and have had many doorbell rings from kids looking for 'the girls'!

We're In!

You know it has been a while since you blogged when you have to resign in! Well, I have many good excuses, a baseball game in the States, seeing family and moving into our new place! Yup, we are finally in and are loving it, it has been a crazy week but we are now set up and sleeping here. I promise pictures soon. It is weird still to be so close to Costco, Superstore, Cobs Bakery, health food stores, really anything that we could want, all here within minutes. I still have the strange feeling when I head into Old Navy... that urge to find the best deals, to grab a years worth of clothes in one trip. Now, I can just go in to get one thing! Might take a while for me to adjust to city life again.

Ah, pictures. I have so many to share and this post will have none, disappointing I know. Later, I promise.
