Quietness
I love Saturdays like this. Lazy, warm, quiet, restful. The girl's are outside right now playing . Jude is sleeping, there is a light breeze blowing, the sun comes and goes as clouds move across it. We live in a very peaceful and quiet place. Our friend Leanne slept over last night as she had to come to town to do some things for her renters here. It was great to see her again and as we talked about 2 trips that she just had, the confirmation that I love quiet places remains. She recently travelled to Scotland to visit friends. She ate cheese fresh from the cheese mongur(?), attended Easter Sunday service in a 12th century old church, and was warmly welcomed by a community where her friend works, of able bodied and disabled people living life together. She painted a wonderful picture and expressed such joy and peace in that experience. No longer than a week of coming back she headed to Las Vegas. The lights, noise, money, and consumerism was overwhelming. She went and saw Britany Spears in concert, saw the hotels and couldn't wait to get home! I really have no desire to go there, and the more I watch my kids play, listen to the quietness I am reminded why we moved here. I love the quiet life. Sometimes it is easy to loose sight of this when the kids are loud and fighting, I am so busy I can't sit down and life just seems to go on without me. I need to take more time each day to reflect, rest. Well, that is all the time I get for today, life is calling me back, the kids are back in and bored and grumpy and Jude is waking up. Till tomorrow.

Mystery Solved
Day 3 is here and is almost over. It went by in a blur. Up with the kids getting Gracie off to school. Then a quick shower and then a walk with the rest of the kids. Then tidy, clean, eat and off to work. Work was crazy today! Rene was doing a wedding and needed my help to do 17 corsages and boutaniers! 17! Even the bartender is wearing one! Anyway, I am now tired and my fingers and hands are sore. The girls are in the bath and the boys are doing "errands". So, in these few minutes I think I will wrap this up, but before I do, I must share that a great mystery has been solved. My Sweetie has been missing his black Lulu pants and we have looked high and low. It has been in the background of our lives so we haven't pursued it. But in a quick email from his mom today, we have finally located them! Yay! Now, do we wait till Aug to pick them up..... do we have them mailed. You will have to stay tuned to find out. Perhaps that should be my next weeks series. The adventures of the Lulu traveling pants!
I must say that this post seems awfully boring compared to yesterday's. I knew this would happen. I would outdo myself in the first day or so and then it would be all down hill from there. Oh well, you get to see the fun and the not so fun, I guess that was the whole point of this! Until tomorrow.

My day in pictures
Well, day 2... and instead of writing what my day held for me, why not sit back and enjoy the pictures!
This is how our day started! Yes that is snow.

This is how our day started! Yes that is snow.
This green machine magically turned back into this nice blue van, notice the nice new bumper.
Then we had some of this sadness, it was shot day... oh, there were 4 shots
Then we had some of this action
Then we had some of this action...

We then headed to the family school dance, all the kids had a great time, but Beaner busted the moves the most!
and finally this is where I found J Man as I was making his bedtime snack. He was in his chair when I left him.... we have to strap him in now!
That was my day. See you all tomorrow!

One A Day
I have been thinking, why blog if I only do it so infrequently that I can't even remember the last time I did. I have been following blogs that post everyday, of course it is has turned into a business for some of them and with 11 million hits they need to have something interesting for people to read. But what about me? Do my 3 followers yearn for a posting everyday? Are they important enough to give them something to look forward to each day? Have I short changed them with the promise of a blog and then left them hanging... wanting more? Well, for them I say "YES" they are that important and so I venture into a new challenge. I will blog everyday for the next week ( I know I am reaching high!) and thus give my 3 followers a daily glimpse into my life!
Well...... the first day.... day 1... numero uno............. boy this is going to be hard!
What I did today so far. Well, I enjoyed listening to my son chat to himself in bed for about a half and hour. He is too cute when he does this. I also listened as he made loud banging noises and wondered aloud, what is doing? After Cici and Beaners headed off to school, I took J Man out for a walk in the cool sun and then he played on the grass while I did some watering. It was so nice to be outside and very fun to see him look for birds that he could practice is new sign for and then the neighbours dog came out and we watched it roll in the grass. Oh, our van is getting repaired today... because of my little mistake with the garage a awhile ago. Anyway, we are getting a loaner car. So, we need to be creative with taking our children places as we now will no longer fit in a normal sized car! The girls were thrilled at the thought of riding in this new car and can't wait to see what it looks like. I remember when I was in Junior High and we had to get a loaner car as a family, I was soooo embarrassed to be dropped off at school in that car. Silly hey! I am just glad that I can enjoy these few years where my kids are excited to be in a loaner car!
It is a big day for Beaner today. She is going to Kindergarden registration today. She will get to meet her teachers and see her class. She is really excited to start school. She has been pretty bored lately. She can't wait for Cici to come home from school so that they can play. She is at her play school right now, then home for a quick lunch and then her and us and J Man will pile into the new car and head over to the school! Thankfully it is my friends turn for carpool today so she can take Cici home for us, although there will be great dissapointment if Cici sees us at the school with the "new car" and she can't fit in it to get home.
I must go get ready for all the fun the rest of the day has, so this will end my first day's post. Enjoy this read and prepare yourself for the one tomorrow!

9 quiet minutes
Gracie never ceases to amaze me. Just when I think I know her she throws me a curve ball. After Sunday School today, the teacher came up to us and said "Guess what Grace did today?" Well, my mind started to race, Grace can do lots in a small amount of time! The teacher explained that Gracie had an idea, she wanted to play a game... see who could stay quiet the longest! Gracie... suggesting to stay quiet!! Well, her and Beth and two others did the game and Gracie wanted it timed. There were lots of kids down there and while these 4 girls sat quietly on the carpet the others ran wildly around (which usually Gracie is leading the charge!) So, as you might guess, Grace won... a whole 9 minutes she went without saying a peep! Wow! I must remember this for at home! I am shocked at her that she wanted to do this, but more than that, I am so proud of her. I can just imagine how hard that was for her but she stuck with it to till the end. The more she grows up the more I admire her and want many of her qualities for myself. I am a proud mama!

She's got me stumped!
So, my girl's love to pretend to be cats. In fact Gracie just came while I am writing to ask if she can be my kitty and I have to buy her at the store. Well, I was just helping her in the potty when she asked me ...
"Mom, do kitty's wipe their bums?'
"Um, no, honey, they actually lick it...."
"WHAT? How do they survive without getting sick?!"
Here is where my mommy wisdom stops. How does a cat lick itself without getting sick? Did God make them immune to the grossness it is ingesting? My quick answer was " I don't know sweetie, I guess God just made them different" So, I might just have to google this one and find some answers!
Hummm, some family news....
-We are all feeling a bit better, no one is sick as of today!
-Gracie has had 5 days of potty success! Praise God!
-Jude is signing 3 signs, and I think he is starting to say "MaMa"
-Jude is at the doctor to check on his tongue tie, we'll see if it needs surgery.
-Bethy left her jacket at the library, we'll go get that today.
-I am ready for school to start again!
-Paul is busy with work, he is making bread today
-I cut Paul's hair yesterday
-I am working today
-We had a kitty friend hanging around our house yesterday, he wanted to come inside
-Gracie is sitting in a basket waiting for me to buy her!
There is our life in a nutshell, let the day begin!
